An innovative modular construction solution brings a fresh look to the Pinecrest campus and provides a much-needed Lower School facility, featuring six classrooms for preschoolers through first-graders, a language lab, library, playroom, and administrative offices. Classrooms for each grade level are clustered around central gathering spaces, fostering interaction among students and staff.
The cross-axis floor plan, combined with playful finishes that highlight focal areas, enhances engagement and collaboration. To reduce construction time, the building was designed for fabrication by a modular building manufacturer. Sections were constructed off-site, then delivered and assembled on a site-built foundation. A sloped roof with an attic for additional storage was added above the modular units.
Completed in 2017, the new building complements the adjacent Upper School, with an updated outdoor learning space situated between the two.
