A renovation and addition to St. Gregory the Great Catholic School creates a new face for the 50-year-old school with an identifiable canopied entrance and expands the administrative office suite. Design of the new entrance/student drop-off area provides an increased level of security by creating multiple direct visual connections to school’s site and a series of secure checkpoints to allow faculty and staff total control of the school’s entrance. The new entry is constructed of steel and glass, providing a much-needed covered area for student pick-up and drop-off. The open administrative area enjoys inside-outside connections. The new addition harmonizes with the existing structure and church. Outdoor benches and planters are scaled for students.
