As downtown Norfolk continues to attract new residents, clients seek unusual spaces to make a personal statement. For this loft, a chopped up office space was converted into an efficient open-plan studio. A kitchen counter also serves as an entertainment center. Barn doors separate a bedroom and walk-in closet, while a pocket-door hides a bath, Custom cabinets conceal the washer/dryer. The challenge of adding light to the space was accomplished by cutting a window into a north-facing wall. The new opening provides a view of Granby Street.
