After years of community discussion, planning and debate, Norfolk city leaders and school officials have officially broken ground on the new Maury High School, marking a major milestone for public education in the city.
“I think the legacy of Maury High School tells the story and the kids in a building that’s over 100 years old; the city and Norfolk Public Schools are investing in them,” Maury High School Principal Karen Berg said as city leaders, educators and community members gathered to mark the start of construction on a new campus.
