Mel attended the national AIA Small Firm Roundtable last week in Los Angeles. The meeting was held in the legendary West Hollywood Andaz hotel, and the group worked on preparation for the AIA National convention in Chicago and the development of an AIA app to serve as a resource for small and large firms alike.
Following the AIAHR Hardhat Tour at NSU, the first Young Architects Forum (YAF) social event in Hampton Roads was held in our office. Congratulations to the steering committee led by Corrie Machado of PF&A Design for a successful night with an impressive turnout. The purpose of YAF is to be the voice of recently licensed (up to ten years) Architects and architectural interns and to be a catalyst for progress and action within the AIA. It promotes leadership, mentorship, and fellowship for the future of the profession. WPA is proud to be a supporter of this vital organization, and we’re excited to see it be getting off the ground.
Great turnout last night at the AIA Meet the Architects event. WPA would like to thank all those in attendance and your compliments on our recently expanded studio.
