Green building takes on a whole new meaning with this 1,513-GSF aluminum and glass greenhouse at Norfolk State University. The structure sits atop a concrete and brick knee wall, replacing a previous greenhouse that once stood on the roof of the Woods Science Building.

Now located along a pathway between Woods Science and Dick Price Stadium, the new facility engages the broader campus with its research and activities. The greenhouse supports the cultivation of blue-green algae, crop plants, microorganisms, hydroponics, and tree seedlings. Students have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including research on food sources and growing plants to enhance the campus landscape.
